Why Blog now?

I've thought about blogging for a long time because it is something I thought I would enjoy doing. Then I've thought who would want to listen to my ramblings! I follow a number of different blogs - style blogs, theology blogs, ministry blogs - because they contain things that interest me. Would anyone be interested in what I have to say and share?

My life however is about to change in a big way. After nearly nine years as  minister at an inner city Birmingham Baptist church - 3 of which were as minister in training and so part time - I am about to move on; not simply to another part of Britain but to another country - in fact another continent. A huge transition that is both daunting and exciting in equal measure and I can think of no better way to keep a record of this new adventure.

And so my blog is born. While I hope people will read, enjoy and comment, ultimately this is the place were I will record my journey - physically, emotionally and spiritually - for me. In these pages I will theologically reflect: where is God in all of this; what does He want me to learn and how can I bring glory to Him? But  theology is grounded in everyday life and so for me this will not be an academic blog. It will be a blog that reflects on the life and lifestyle of a disciple of Jesus seeking to celebrate life in God's wonderful world and be faithful to His calling on my life.

I hope others will join me on this journey. No faith required - No expectations! Just an acceptance that God is integral to this blogger's life and will crop up in my personal reflecting!

So let the adventure begin...

Ready, Steady, Go

And she's off... well sort of! This is a completely new venture for me so it will take a while to really get to grips with how to do it properly and well! My life is multi layered, full of texture and threads that weave together to make me - me! I hope in time this blog will reflect not just my opinions but ME as God created me and loves me - in all of my complexity, confusion and certainty.
